Bright and beautiful baroque - performed on a fine copy of Christian Zell’s spectacular 1728 instrument.
The decision to record an all-Bach harpsichord CD was an easy one to make. The seed was sown when New Zealand early keyboard builder Paul Downie was commissioned to build a replica of the ‘Hamburg Zell’ – one of the most lavishly decorated and sumptuous sounding of the extant German harpsichords.
